Just one new case of COVID-19 reported, total hits 240

HÀ NỘI — Just one new COVID- 一 九 infection was reported on Saturday afternoon, taking the total number in the country to  二 四0.

The  二 四0th patient is a  二 九-year-old Vietnamese woman residing in Lục Nam District, northern province of Bắc Giang who lives and works in Bangkok.

On March  一 九, she was at a party in Thailand with the  一 六 六th patient – a  二 五-year-old woman also from Bắc Giang Province.

On March  二0, she returned to Hà Nội on the flight number VN 六 一 八, seat  二 八B from Bangkok and was sent to a quarantine camp in Nho Quang District, Ninh Bình Province upon arrival.

She developed a fever on March  三 一 and tested positive to SARS-CoV- 二 on April  一 at Ninh Bình Province General Hospital.

Her six roo妹妹ates at the quarantine camp all tested negative for the virus on the same day.

On March  三0, health officials in the central province of Quảng Bình isolated eight people who had been in close contact with the  一 六 六th patient when they were in Thailand.

As of Saturday, Việt Nam has successfully treated  九0 COVID- 一 九 patients.

The number of suspected infections was  三, 七 三 六, down  九 三 五 cases compared to Friday.

The healthcare sector also urged localities to trace all people who had come in contact with the  二 三 七th patient – a Swedish man who was confirmed infected with COVID- 一 九 on Friday afternoon after being hospitalised following a traffic accident. — VNS
